Jil Sander Colourful Lace-Up Shoes

Cobalt has become my favourite colour recently. I have a cobalt sofa, cobalt wall and we're working on a new logo for Versa Design, that will incorporate delicate cobalt touches. Therefore I am going to marry the first guy I see wearing these... By Jil Sander, via materialiste.

Julie Richey - Mosaic Dress

I have been a little blog-idle these past couple of weeks, but things got a bit intense (I do, however, post some interesting things at the SHTD's facebook profile, so make sure you follow us there too).

One thing that keeps me busy at work is the complete change going on at the studio.
One studio consisting of design and prepress departments os now split in two and so the design part gained new identity. We are in the process of designing a new website and whole identity package, which I will share as soon as we finish the constant brainstorming and produce some results.

Apart from work I am preparing to renovate my kitchen, which - strangely enough - brings me back to this post. Did you notice this dress is made from ceramic mosaic? I was going to put mosaic on one of the walls,  but Julie Richey decided ceramic tiles made good enough material for a dress...

NIKE78 is an exciting new project created by Paul Jenkins and inspired by NIKE. Creatives involved will receive a brand new pair of NIKE shoes and will be asked to use sport as inspiration to challenge their function. The project will be documented on this website and after the shoes have been collected, an exhibition showcase is also planned. This is a unique project featuring some of the most talented creative individuals, studios and other organisations.

Sebastian Brajkovic - Stretched Furniture

We all know how easy it is to stretch, extrude and warp things in Photoshop. All graphic designers are used to distorting the reality with just a few click and moves of the mouse. Is it so simple in reality though? You may think it is while looking at the amazing furniture pieces by Sebastian Brajkovic. They are twisted and look almost smudged on a piece of paper. But they're not just a Photoshop concept, although they started as one.
Another intriguing thing is the the way they combine the old and the new. Their distortion may come from the inspiration with the modern graphic programs, but the furniture form is taken from antiques.

Usually the materials or forms I use are from products that already proved themselves as worthy. Like the lathe chair series for instance, the forms are used from old chairs, these old chairs lay easy on the eye because they are recognizable, in a way they are accepted. If I want to explain a chair that looks like its moving, it will explain itself better when you recognize the old and familiar chair in it.

Botanic - Visual Concept by From Us With Love

My dearest friend Wisła Nicieja posted that a couple days ago at the Say Hi! To Design's facebook profile. I thought it's charming, taking under consideration that the following stunning visuals were created to promote a new collection of ...weaving vinyl flooring.

Bolon's new Botanic collection is a revolutionary breakthrough, weaving vinyl flooring with environmental care. Botanic contains a new plasticizer which, in turn, is based on renewable raw materials originating from plant extracts. FUWL has created the visual concept around Botanic, reflecting nature’s variety of organic architecture and wealth of detail. Nature photography and handicraft have inspired flowers, herbs and plants in woven vinyl.
