Couple months ago I was visiting my friend in Warsaw. Since she's a professional art restorer, I decided to seize the oportunity and learn to turn old furniture into gold! Gliding turned out to be a time consuming proces, but it's definitely worth the effort. Maybe I'll convince my friend to give us a little written tutorial....

Beginning of a new Wall Clock Collection....?
When I was a kid I remember thinking: What's with my family collecting the wall clocks? Both my granpdparents and my aunt and uncle had really big collections of wall clocks and I thought it was a bit peculiar. Their living room walls were full of those little machines, making weird sounds at nights, making you realise time is conctantly ticking away...
And look at me now - developing my own collection. I have a real "thing" for clocks from the fifties, ideally I would own half of George Nelson's clocks, but I'd probably have to rent out part of my apartment to be able to afford it. Anyways, this just arrived, a birthday gift from my girlfriends!

Ścinki - Fabric Scraps
Before I get to post a couple more things from my random collection of items in the apartment, here's a little inspiration of what you can do with scraps and leftovers and a little imagination. All of these were decorated with bits of pieces of fabric found at flea markets, dug out from closets, stolen from aunts and grandmothers (...I imagine). By ścinki.

My Apartment....
And so today is my birthday. I'm not going to mention the number, but it's a round one. Since today is all about ME, obviously, I decided to post a couple of things from my own apartment - which I might continue some other time. Today:
- vinyl clock I made from an old record I had found at the apartment when I moved in (Mozart, by the way)
- flower vase set I got for my birthday (from BRW)
- and an unusual... well, I don't know what it is really, but it stands on pencils and I ♥ it!
Hope you like it too.

Tea Pottery
I'm going to try to catch up with some posts :) This is what I would have in my kitchen cupboard to serve tea to my lovely girlfriends! I am actually having a dinner party this Saturday to celebrate my birthday (lets avoid mentioning the numbers...). Hm, I do have a tea set shaped as giraffe! I have to dig it out then.
This unique collection comes from The Teapottery.

Heather Lins Pillows
One of the few things that's missing at my apartment are pillows for my vintage sofa (renovated sofa from the 60-ties). These pillow by Heather Lins would fit perfectly. Funny, witty and great for the black and white finishing of my room.

Ringnes Eventyrbrus Redesign
Today I am in mood to post some examples of good package design, which - apart from book covers - is my favourite part of the design world. I also browsed through many design portfolios today to catch up on the latest trends, therefore I have loads new stuff I like. Right now a sweet Before & After case for Ringnes by a Norwegian studio Audun Aas.
The Challenge: Ringnes AS is one of Norways leading distributors of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Ringnes Eventyrbrus as a brand has remained unchanged for the last 50 years. How can one refresh this soda brand to increase the number of buyers without losing your current fanbase?
The Solution: Flaskeladdens Eventyrbrus is a concept for re-branding of Ringnes Eventyrbrus. The concept consists of small and big bottles, cans, and packaging for 4 small bottles. The big bottles is Ringnes’ standard bottles, while the small bottles were chosen based on the ergonomics (small radius and grip for a small childrens hands) and exposure area (cylinder formed). The tall and narrow cans also give a good exposure area for the label.

What is furniture?
What is furniture? Does it mean only tables, chairs and cabinets? Or could, for example, an electric heater become furniture as well? Maybe it’s possible. It depends on how open minded you are. This collection is called: ‘I am furniture’. As in: becoming furniture. The objects identify themselves with the freedom of our thoughts and minds. I am furniture is produced by Studio Vraay, and most of the parts are hand made or Industrially sculptured. The objects heat up electrically using a reduced electrical heating component made for tomorrow's ecological standards. Besides reducing energy demand, the object heats up the direct surroundings where we find ourselves in, instead of entire buildings. via designgirl.

Miniature Food Jewelry by Stéphanie Kilgast

For a good start of the week a perfect combination - food with no calories and a beautiful treat to the eye. The miniture food jewelry by Stéphanie Kilgast stole my heart recently. She makes rings and earrings and broches being 1/12 of the size of regular sweets such as cupcakes and donuts and cookies. They are decorated just like the regular food, with the difference everything is just so adorably tiny...
